OUR MISSION
Tanger Hillel seeks to strengthen Jewish identity among Jewish college students. We work to sustain and deepen students’ commitment to Israel, increase understanding within the Jewish community and between Jews and others, and foster a climate of tolerance through a pluralistic approach.
We engage students through Jewish learning, arts and culture, recreation, and religious experiences, and cultivate participation in social action. In carrying out this work, Tanger Hillel draws on the resources of Jewish partner organizations and agencies, as well as those of the broader city, to enrich Jewish life on campus and beyond.
The Tanger Hillel Board of Trustees supports these efforts by providing financial leadership and oversight of fiscal operations, facilities, and programs, in accordance with governance standards established by Hillel International.
